Specials at St. Mary School
At St. Mary School, students participate in a variety of special classes designed to nurture the whole child. These opportunities encourage students to explore their God-given talents, develop new skills, and discover interests beyond the core academic curriculum.
Art
Through a variety of mediums and techniques, students create original works of art and learn to appreciate the creativity of others. Art class fosters self-expression, skill development, and an understanding of artistic traditions.
Music
Our music program blends performance and theory. Students learn to read music, sing, and play instruments, applying their skills in both classroom activities and school productions. Every student participates in either the fall or spring musical, and liturgical music plays a central role, with opportunities to serve as song leaders during our twice-weekly school Masses.
Physical Education
Physical education promotes both fun and fitness. Students develop skills, learn healthy habits, and participate in the President’s Fitness Test each year to track their growth and abilities.
Technology
In computer classes, students build age-appropriate technology skills. Younger students strengthen motor skills through educational games, while older students learn to use common applications and apply them across subjects to enhance their learning.
Library
Our beautiful library offers students a gateway to the world of reading. Library time fosters a love for books, supports research skills, and connects to topics from other academic areas, helping students become confident and capable learners.
