In order to promote a positive learning environment centered on Christ, all students are expected to “dress for success.” Students are to be in correct dress code at all times on campus and at some off campus school related functions.
School Uniform for PK-6th Grade
Happy Summer Break St. Mary Rockets!

I am sending out School Uniform updates to all families because I know how quickly the summer flies!! There has been a slight addition to the school uniform policy that will add an additional option for girls and boys this fall.

Girls:
This fall the girls will be able to include the Blue Gold Plaid skirts/skorts/jumpers/dresses from French Toast Only to their uniform options. See the additional pictures and information below!

French Toast Only - because they offer a plaid in our school colors and the price is a bit cheaper than other "uniform" catalogs and students choosing this option will look the same.
This is not mandatory, nor will it become mandatory - just adding a little variation to the uniform code

Boys:
This fall boys will be able to include Cargo shorts as an option (during the specified Months). This decision was made to help parents find shorts for school. With the current supply issues we are seeing in stores I have been looking at uniform availability and realize it can be tricky for families with multiple children.

This policy change will help parents of boys find more options for uniform shorts
Please remember only purchase shorts in the uniform colors.

This decision was made to help bring some variation into our normal school dress code policy. These options are not mandatory

Additionally the light blue polo policy for Friday Mass will be discontinued. This policy change was made for practical reasons:

Light blue polos for younger students begin to stain and look dirty faster than the navy and red polos.
Because of the condition of light blue polos parents purchase more of this color just to satisfy the Light Blue Polo at Mass policy.
Many children and families forget or may not have a light blue polo clean on a Mass day for a number of reasons and children come to school in a different color of polo other than light blue.
Policies that single out children or families among their peers are not good for our school and do more to separate us from each other than bring us together.

Q/A

Can my child still wear light blue polos on Mass days?
Yes! Students can wear any color of polo or anything in the school uniform guide.

Do(es) my daughter(s) have to have a plaid skirt/jumper as a part of their uniforms.
Nope! This is just another option for parents with girls! :)

We just received lots of newer girls and boys polos, pants and skirts! This is FREE to ALL families! Come and take what you need and bring in what you have to share!
St. Mary School Jr. High Dress Code

In order to promote a positive learning environment centered on Christ, all students are expected to “dress for success.” Students are to be in correct dress code at all times on campus and at some off campus school related functions. Enhanced dress code must be worn on field trips. Parents are asked to understand the dress code, and support its enforcement to support learning. The following standards are designed to promote learning, educational excellence, and safety for all students. “Think dress for success”!

Permitted:
- Jeans, pants, Bermuda shorts, cargo shorts, capris or skirts, following the guidelines and criteria regarding fit and length (free of holes and tears).
- T-shirts or other casual shirts/blouses are permitted provided they are modest and do not make reference to gangs, drugs, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, offensive activities, derogatory words and/or phrases, or sexually explicit content. “Double meaning” and “Band” t-shirts are not permitted.
- Sweatshirts, Sweaters and other tops are permitted as long as they follow the guidelines for modesty and size
- All clothing must not reveal undergarments (including bra straps) and must not be revealing or distracting.
- All clothing must be properly sized, modest and unrevealing in cut, fit, and texture. (No Crop top shirts)
- Modesty is expected at all times at any school event or function; including any co/extracurricular activities.
- Footwear (shoes or sandals) may be worn. No flip flops.
- Students may wear a St. Mary t-shirt with relaxed, athletic style pants (No sweatpants) on Monday Spirit wear day only.
- Students are permitted to continue to follow normal K-6 school uniform guidelines
Required
- Gym attire for gym class. Athletic shorts, sweatpants or athletic pants and gym shoes are required for gym classes. Not changing for gym class could result in a drop in gym grade or consequence. – ALL gym clothes are to be taken home weekly and washed.
- Deodorant - Please make sure to supply your child with deodorant or equivalent personal hygiene routine that promotes personal care.
- Gym shoes on days students are in gym class – Students do not need to leave gym shoes at the school however they must wear gym shoes during gym class. A drop in grade or a given consequence could result for students who are unable to remember gym shoes on scheduled gym days.
Other Guidelines
- Hats and hoods are not permitted to be worn in the building. Hooded sweatshirts are permitted – do not wear the hood in the building.
- Makeup and accessories should be neat and simple.
- Hair is to be clean, neat, well-kept. Extreme styles are not permitted. Please consult with your principal if you have any questions.
- Girls Dresses, skirts and tunics are to be of modest length (no shorter than 5” above the knee)
- Visible tattoos and body piercings (other than earrings for girls) are not permitted.
Not permitted
- Spandex, leggings, yoga pants or tights without a long dress, skirt or tunic (that meets guidelines for length) are not permitted.
- Sweatpants
- Athletic pants on NON-Spirit wear Mondays
- Graphic T-shirts that contain the following: content related to gangs, drugs, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, offensive activities, derogatory words and/or phrases, or sexually explicit content. “Double meaning” and “Bands”
- Crop Top shirts or sweatshirts
- Oversized clothing or hoodies
- Pajama pants or tops (unless it is a special celebration)
- Arm socks/gloves without fingers are not permitted.
- Sleeveless shirts are not permitted
- “Sagging” pants/shorts – the wearing of shorts or pants below the beltline is prohibited
- Long hair (boys or girls) is to be clean and styled out of the face.
Distracting Clothing: No clothing or jewelry that is determined by any teacher or staff member to distract from the learning process is permitted. Clothing and accessories must be free of suggestive words, phrases, or double meanings. ***Administration reserves the right to determine what constitutes appropriate dress.***

This dress code is operating on a trial basis. At any time your student(s) may be asked to change into a school uniform if the attire does not follow the above guidelines. St. Mary school reserves the right to revoke dress code policy and return to uniform policy at any time.
